Fifth Class were very busy with Space Week last week. We had a Skype call from Sorcha in Blackrock, Cork, who taught us all about the planets we can see in the night sky. She told us some interesting facts about the constellations and how to identify different ones. It was great fun to watch her turn the sky from day to night and getting to ask all of our questions.
We also learned about the International Space Station and were able to see their view of Africa from space. We learned how different tasks are completed in space like washing your hair, brushing your teeth and going to the bathroom (yuck!).
We also made some sponge paintings of the milky way.
